What Do You Cherish?
What is an important object that has been part of your personal collection that is important to Kachemak Bay life or history? A favorite thing? A favorite memory? Our lives are bound up with objects. Museums are evidence of our deep connection with the things that surround us, whether natural or the product of human creation. Why do we keep stuff, what do we learn from it – and what does our fascination for objects from our past tell us about life in 2018? Fifty years from now, what objects or artifacts will Museum professionals of 2068 be tasked to collect from this community’s past? What is representative of Kachemak Bay Community History from Your Own collections? Photograph your cherished object and send the photograph to the Pratt Museum!
