SUMMARY:Night of Entanglement
DESCRIPTION:What might be some of the consequences of widely sharing new ecological discoveries in the present day? How does the practice of naming places and species after European naturalists reflect the values of Western culture? How can we expand our ideas of collecting to be more environmentally sustainable? Join the Pratt Museum on Friday\, Sept. 4th for a Facebook Live Event\, as we take a deep dive into some of the questions and themes explored in our latest exhibit\, Entangled: Exploring Natural History Collections from Kachemak Bay. We are thrilled to be joined by the authors Marilyn Sigman and Nancy Lord for this event\, who will be reading excerpts from their books and leading us in a discussion around how natural history collections exist at the intersections of science\, stories and art. \nWe hope to see you (virtually) there!
