The goal of this lab is to give participants the keys to a deeper understanding of the plant world without getting overwhelmed by the details. Visitors will be guided on a walking presentation titled The Song of Ighedal\, which will echo the migration of the golden-crowned sparrow\, a culturally significant shorebird in local tradition and throughout the Pacific Coast region. He will discuss Dena’ina bird etymology and Ninilchik historical use\, comparing language traditions from cultures spanning the sparrow’s continental habitat. \nVisitors will finish the presentation with a guided drawing activity inspired by the walk.
