THE GRACE OF DITUSHI: A BOTANY & SYMBOLOGY ART WORKSHOP

Local tribal artist and Nichił cultural expert Argent Kvasnikoff will be hosting a talk on the contemporary view of the lower peninsula’s ethnobotany and its relationship with indigenous culture. This discussion will explore the linguistic influences of wild plant cultivation and stewardship on local heritage and identity. Alongside the Pratt’s curator of botanical exhibits, Yarrow Hinnant, he will be guiding guests through an interpretive activity themed by local plantlore and a group discussion on examining the legacies from the earliest peoples to today using the language of flora. Guests are encouraged to wear fireweed colors, pink and purple!
