Weaving baskets from plant materials is a magical process. Led by Homer’s own award-winning, internationally known basket artist and story weaver, Mavis Muller. Mavis will instruct & collaborate with each student to create a unique, one-of-a-kind woven vessel using locally gathered natural materials such as: alder, wild grass, nettle. She will share unique natural embellishments from her personal collection. Participants will be invited to display their baskets that evening from 4-6 during the museum’s First Friday open house. Materials provided.
