What About Alaska?

Alaska is the largest state in the United States of America .
There are 586,412 square miles of land area. In fact if it were divided into two states, it would still be more than twice the size of any other. On average, there is about one person per square mile.

Alaska has the longest shoreline.
It has a longer shoreline than all other states combined - about 33,904 miles.

Alaska is the northernmost state.
Point Barrow is 71°23' north latitude.

Alaska is the westernmost and easternmost state.
The 180th meridian passes through the long chain of Aleutian Islands in southwestern Alaska. It is halfway around the world from the prime meridian at Greenwich, England and serves as the dividing line between east and west.
