Kachemak Bay is near the geographic center of Alaska, so most types of Alaskan fishing vessels are berthed in the Homer Boat Harbor. They are longliners, gillnetters, seiners, trollers, king crabbers and other potfishers, trawlers, and draggers. Each boat design has visible features that can be used to tell them apart.
