Join the Pratt Museum at the Kachemak Bay Wooden Boat Festival, September 8-11! This year’s festival is held in conjunction with the Alaska Marine Conservation Council’s Halibut Festival and the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies’ CoastWalk Kick-off. Museum staff will bring a vessel from the museum collection, the White Whale, to the festival. Join us at the Fishing Hole Campground (behind Pier One Theatre) on Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday noon-5pm to learn more about this boat and its fascinating history and heritage. Bring your own wooden boat, or simply your curiosity to the festival and spin some nautical yarns with like-minded mariners! Other events kick off on Thursday, so check the KBWBS Website for a complete schedule!
