This year’s Ritz theme is La Fiesta Ritzicana en el Dia de Los Muertos. With fine Spanish cuisine served in a festive Day of the Dead atmosphere, and entertainment by talented musicians, it promises to be an unforgettable evening! The event will be held Saturday, November 1, from 6:30 to 10 pm at Wasabi’s.
The evening’s entertainment features the bandThe Devils Club: Possessed with driving rhythms and melodic flow, this group of Homer musicians sets no boundaries as to style or delivery. Their jazz, blues and classical influences are apparent as they perform original and well-known pieces in a program of music guaranteed to soothe, inspire and arouse. The Devils Club is comprised of Johnny B. on piano, Jeff Szarzi on drums, Jennifer King on bass, Subterranean Strings, and guest artist Tyler Munns.
The evening starts at 6:30, with cocktails and art viewing, a full-course dinner, and silent and outcry auctions. Donated artwork by many generous and talented artists from Homer and around the state will be featured in the outcry and silent auctions.
After dessert, and once the outcry auction is complete, The Devils Club will play classic rock and roll, blues and jazz standards for those who wish to stay and dance.
Tickets are on sale at the Museum Store and the Homer Bookstore. Donated artwork to be auctioned at the Ritz is on exhibit in the Pratt’s Special Exhibits Gallery through October 29. This artwork will then be available for viewing on Friday, October 31, at Wasabi’s.
