Afterschool Opportunities

The WHIZ Kids program (Winter Hours Imagination Zone) is offered to pre-school and elementary school children as an informal learning opportunity in the afterschool hours. Through museum discovery featuring our “Kachemak Bay: An Exploration of People and Place” exhibit, we explore various cultures of the world and how they relate to our own experiences here in Kachemak Bay. We learn about the biology and behavior of the animals of our region and the importance of habitat conservation. Using the Museum's Colletions, children explore the arts, science, and humanities.
