Concerning Climate Change: an Art & Science Collaboration
Concerning Climate Change: an Art & Science Collaboration - brings together artists and scientists to exploer the many ways in which we effect our environment and how we can affect changes. Scientists sharing information about the cause, effects and future outcomes of global warming will provide inspiration for artists through education workshops and presentations, and the resulting art work will provide the material for the collaborative exhibit.
Exhibition Opportunity:
Global warming is caused when excessive gatherings of gases such as carbon dioxide and methane form a greenhouse-like blanket in the atmosphere and trap gases that would normally escape. Extreme levels of carbon dioxide are causing changes in the environment, and we need to take action now to make decisions that reduce our carbon footprint and curb global warming. Recognizing the consequences of our behaviors and using the tools we have to reduce our emissions is our first responsibility.
Visual artists and writers are invited to participate in workshops and submit one piece for exhibit. Workshops focusing on global climate change will be offered throughout the winter. These workshops will be part of a collaborative project inviting all visual artists, poets, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, and thespians to create artwork that explores the many ways in which we effect our environment and how we can affect changes.
