Every Wednesday in February and March Family Free Day! We are celebrating our reopening with free admission on Wednesdays through the end of March. Come by and enjoy complimentary cookies donated by Sweet Berries Cafe with tea and juice.

February 2 through February 25, Forest Explorers - A free weekly outdoor program for kids ( All kids participating must be appropriately dressed for the outdoors. Tuesdays Preschool – 1st grade from 3:30-4:30 PM; Thursdays 2nd grade – 6th grade from 3:30-4:30 PM. Please make sure your child has gloves, hat, warm coat, snow pants, and winter boots. We will be outside regardless of weather, so come prepared!

March 1, Living by the Tides 6:30-9:30 pm. This community-wide event explores the ways the tides have shaped our local identities in Kachemak Bay. Come share your stories of navigating and subsisting by the tides.

February 2 through March 14, The Big One: Earthquakes in the Pacific Northwest . Come learn about the history and science of earthquakes in the Pacific Northwest.

March 16 through May 9, Backyard Alaska. Michael Walsh and Asia Freeman explore the stories --truths and myths-- contained in our backyards.

Museum Tours
A variety of seasonal tours, many of them free, are offered for your education and enjoyment from May through September. Learn more about these guided explorations into our Forest Ecology Trail, and Homer's Historic Harbor.

Fish Feedings
Feeding fish in the aquariaJoin us every Tuesday and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fun and educational — bring the kids!

Pratt Pods (summer)
1-day activities offered on June 15th, July 20th, and August 17th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Click here for a copy of this year's schedule. The program is open to youth in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

Object at Hand
The Object at Hand (June-August): Each Monday and Friday at 3:00pm, Pratt Interns will display a different object from the storage collection, and provide stories and insights about the featured “object at hand.”

Forest Ecology Trail Walks
Join a Pratt Museum volunteer on the Pratt Museum Forest Ecology Trail for an hour of interesting and informative forest ecology discussion. Each Thursday evening at 6pm this summer, a Pratt volunteer will lead a walk around the trail and highlight some of the many things that make the Forest Ecology Trail one of downtown Homer's best short hikes. No fee; meet at the trailhead behind the museum at 6pm. Special Note: The trail is flat but often muddy, and is not stroller or wheelchair accessible. Please, no pets during the program. Museum Discovery Program
Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. features activities for pre-school and kindergarten aged kids. Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m features activities for 1st through 6th graders. Free!

Family Free Days
Family having fun at the PrattThere are several days throughout the year when the Pratt is open for special seasonal celebrations and activities that involve the whole family. Our most popular free day, the Stocking Stuffer on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, includes graham cracker houses, crafts, and pictures in the Homestead Cabin with Santa.
